REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION- 2021
On the auspicious morning of 26th January, 2021, our school celebrated the 72nd Republic Day in the school premises. The Republic Day has been celebrated every year in India on January 26, since 1950, to honour the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect. India was a colony of the British for over 200 years and became independent from the rule of the British Raj following the Indian Independence movement. Our respected Principal Sir and Honourable Chief guests Mr. Subhasis Chatterjee (District Governor) from Rotary club, President Rupam Laha and first lady Mrs. Puja Chatterjee from Rotary club performed the flag hoisting ceremony followed by the National Anthem sung by the selected students. Our Principal Sir and Mr. Subhasis Chatterjee shared their inspirational thoughts with us regarding Republic Day.
Our cultural program started with a group song performed by the teachers of our school. Selected programs were organized due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Students performed various cultural activities to entertain the guests. All the performances were to pay respect to our country’s achievements and the achievers. Indian classical dances, yoga performances, aerobics, drills and other activities were displayed to showcase the skills of our students.
On the eve of 72nd Republic Day, Sant Nirankari Public High School had organized an ‘Essay and Poetry Writing Competition’ from 11:00 A.M. The participants were divided into two groups:
- Group A- From Classes- VI to VIII – ‘Warriors of Indian Independence’
- From the Group A the winners were: 1st Prize- Ishika Deb (VI), 2nd Prize- Aneek Samanta (VII) & 3rd Prize – Nitish Rajak (VIII).
- Group B- Classes- IX & X – ‘Our Struggle for Freedom ‘ .
- From the Group B the winners were: 1st Prize –Aditiya Kumar Shaw (IX), 2nd Prize- Rajashree Gope(IX) & 3rd Prize- Kashish Jha (IX).
The winners got attractive prizes.
An exciting Inter- House quiz competition was held on behalf of Sant Nirankari Public High School, Durgapur through Google Meet on 28th January, 2021. The Principal of our school encouraged the participants and gave his best wishes for their performances. The quiz was divided into 4 rounds: 1st – Rapid Fire Round 2nd – Raise Hand Round 3rd- Choose your own topic and Round 4th– Judge’s choice round. Every round was full of questions mixed with different type of subjects. From Classes I to IV students was divided into three groups: Apple, Avocado and Apricot. The winning team was Angel and 1st runner up was Avocado. From Classes V to X students were divided into 2 groups: Ganga, Yamuna the winning team was Ganga. Attractive prizes were distributed among the winners.
At last we can say that the essay, poetry writing was very much necessary for the students of both junior and senior sections for the development of their writing skills and vocabulary. The quiz competition was equally fruitful for the students. The parents were also greatly influenced. The students were very much happy and interested in participating in such kind of events.
