Sant Nirankari Public High School, Durgapur is one the various educational institutions run with the support and under patronage of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, the organizational outfit of Sant Nirankari Mission –a worldwide spiritual movement for universal brotherhood through realization of formless God-Nirankar.
Sant Nirankari Mission is running three Senior Secondary Schools and ten of public schools at Paharganj, Tilak Nagar, Avtar Enclave, Malviya Nagar, Govind Puri, Nirankari Colony in Delhi and one at Faridabad (Haryana), Ludhiana (Punjab), Hoshiarpur (Punjab) and Durgapur (West Bengal). These institutions benefit all sections of society in providing quality education without any discrimination of caste, colour, creed and religion.
SNP Schools were started with a motive to provide quality education to unprivileged group of the society in finding their way into public school at an affordable fee structure.
Sant Nirankari Public High School, Durgapur is affiliated to West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
The school was started in 1999 in a rented house at Bankura More 1 Km apart from its present location. The foundation stone of the building was laid by His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj in the holy presence of Pujya Mataji on March, 2000 at its present location: Zonal Centre, Sagarbhanga, Durgapur-11.
- The inauguration of school building was also done by His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on 28th September, 2004.
- The Government of West Bengal granted the NOC for Primary/ Upper Primary on 21st May, 2014.
- The school got permanent recognition as a Junior High School i.e. from Class V-VIII, on 20th May, 2016.
- Finally, the state board i.e. West Bengal Board of Secondary Education recognised SNPS, Durgapur as a High School on 22nd September, 2016 w.e.f 1st January, 2016.
